L'The building of "Hotel La Residencia" was put up in 1904.

It was the site for the ancient and historical "Fonda MIRAMAR".

When tourism had yet to discover our coasts and getting to Cadaqués was a genuine adventure -not always a pleasant one- the Fonda MIRAMAR was the meeting point and the place to spend the night for many personalities from the worlds of art, sciences, literature, philosophy and general culture.

When Picasso arrived in Cadaqués for the first time, he lodged in this singular "fonda"; that was in 1910 (Dalí was only 6 at the time).

Times change, even in the old "Fonda". In 1965 the new owner renamed it "Hotel Cap Creus".

In 1978 it changed hands once again, and this time also its destination.

After a period of inactivity, the same owner converted it once again into a hotel, currently fully refurbished.

It was given the name " Hotel La Residencia" and received a classification for tourism in 1992.

In 2004, coinciding with the centennial of Dali's birth, we will celebrate the centennial of the building.

Even today, and in spite of it not being an easy task, the "Hotel La Residencia" still is the meeting point for personalities from the worlds of art, science, literature, philosophy and general culture. The only difference is that a century has gone by.

Quim M. Miró, manager of the hotel, always ready to welcome you.
